Since 1943, the Canadian Home Builders' Association (CHBA) has been the voice of residential construction in Canada – one of the most vital and enterprising industries in the country. In 1977 the Canadian Home Builders' Association New Brunswick was formed and continues today to promote "building excellence" within the residential construction industry. We represent our members on issues of importance to our industry and to the home buying and home renovating public.

In 1980 we commenced a partnership with Natural Resources Canada, Offices of Energy Efficiency, in the creation of Canada's very first energy efficiency program for new housing – the R-2000 Initiative. We still deliver R-2000 today, some 30 years later, as well as the EnerGuide for New Houses Energy Rating Service. We are at the forefront of energy efficiency and conservation.
